Educational Training

The FACE IT team provides “in house” training in the comfort of your home allowing you and your family the opportunity to have all your questions answered. This customized, patient-oriented program, with a physician and a specialized nurse, is an excellent extension of the existing hospital-based programs.

By using a life-size teaching model, we can provide hands-on practical training of the drainage device. This model is a true representation of your post-surgery mastectomy appearance, the drainage device and tubing, and the special bag that is designed to hold the drainage device.

Online Support

I am happy to be able to offer my clients this new service! When it isn't possible to get together in person we can now get together 'viturally'. I do a lot of drawing with newly diagnosed patients, so with online support, I can talk on the phone, and then use my tablet to draw, allowing me to describe your diagnoses to you.

Emotional Support

The FACE IT team allows ample time for a “heart-to-heart” talk about the impact of cancer diagnosis on you and your family – and often many issues surface during this talk. We’re there to listen and support you however we can.

Everyone understands the reasons for shorter hospital stays and hospital bed shortages. Yet, when it comes to the concept of returning home the same day after mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery, with tubing protruding from your underarm and a drainage device that must be monitored, one can realistically become apprehensive. The FACE IT team understands your apprehension and provides post-surgery support in your home.
